Tuckahoe NY Pride

Tuckahoe NY Pride, a nonprofit organization founded to unify the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTQIA+) community in Eastchester, host a Pride Festival, meet-ups and other events in and around the Village of Tuckahoe, New York. They kicked off Pride Month on Saturday May 30th, 2026, with members from the broad rainbow of our community in a celebration of all genders.

Tuckahoe NY Pride marched in the Eastchester 250th Independence Day Parade on July 11th, 2026. This was the first time a LGBTQIA+ group was included in the annual parade. Committee members and their families were joined by friends and allies, including Cat Sayles. The parade ended at Lake Isle Country Club with a BBQ and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Fireworks followed at dusk in the Parkway Oval Field in Tuckahoe.

Gay Pride is celebrated globally in the month of June to commemorate the Stonewall riots in 1969. Celebrations center around the LGBTQIA+ community, helps promote visibility, acceptance, and equal rights. Tuckahoe has notable ties to the community including as the setting for the groundbreaking television series, Maude, which starred gay icon and gay-rights champion, Bea Arthur, and is the fictional town in which RuPaul’s Drag Race is held.
