Omayra Andino

Omayra Andino is a community leader and public servant in Tuckahoe, best known for making history as the village’s first woman and first Latina mayor. Her career centers on local, hands-on governance—listening to residents, building coalitions across neighborhoods, and focusing on practical services that shape daily life. As mayor, she has emphasized transparent decision-making, responsive constituent support, and inclusive civic participation so more voices are represented in village priorities. Andino’s path reflects the growing diversity of municipal leadership and has helped broaden representation in Tuckahoe’s public life. She serves as a role model for young Latinas pursuing public service and is a strong advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Quote: “When we exercise our right to vote, we uplift Democracy.”
