Renée Nicole Macklin Good

Renée Nicole Macklin Good was a writer and poet who was “experiencing Minneapolis, MN” with her son and wife, Becca Good. Originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Good studied creative writing at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Her poem, “On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs”, won a prize from the Academy of American Poets and explored existential questions of life and death. She had a varied career as dental assistant, credit union employee, and podcaster, but was recently focused on being a wife and mother before she came to international attention when she attempted to drive away from a protest on January 7, 2026.

From “On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs”
all my understanding dribbles down the chin onto the chest & is summarized as:
life is merely
to ovum and sperm
and where those two meet
and how often and how well
and what dies there
