Tuckahoe NY Pride

Christopher Isherwood was an English novelist, diarist, and screenwriter whose clear-eyed prose captured the moral weather of the twentieth century. His Berlin writings, later collected as The Berlin Stories, chronicled Weimar nightlife and the rise of Nazism with intimate immediacy, inspiring the musical Cabaret. After moving to the United States, he wrote works such as A Single Man, exploring loneliness, desire, and the textures of daily life. Isherwood also pursued spiritual study through Vedanta and wrote influential memoirs. Openly gay for much of his life, he helped expand possibilities for queer representation in modern literature. His voice remains quietly enduring.
