Qween Jean is a trans designer and stage artist whose work blends fashion, storytelling, and community advocacy. Known for bold silhouettes, vibrant color, and meticulous craft, they create looks that celebrate gender expansiveness and cultural pride. Jean brings Broadway-level polish to every project, from performance costumes to editorial pieces and red-carpet commissions. Beyond aesthetics, they use design as activism—mentoring emerging makers, collaborating with LGBTQ+ organizations, and centering inclusive casting and sourcing. Their signature is confidence: garments that help performers and everyday clients inhabit their fullest selves. It’s glamour with purpose, joy, grit. On June 7th, 2026, Jean made history as first openly trans person to win a Tony.
From her Tony acceptance speech: “We are here for the legacy of queer people, trans people. We are taking up space in ways we have to take up space. We have to shift the paradigm. So I just want to say, thank you all so much for this incredible honor. The world right now is deeply, deeply combating so many ailments, and we know as a society that when we come together, we can make real, permanent change.”
