Syd

Syd Bennett, known professionally as Syd, is an American singer, songwriter, and producer from Los Angeles. She first gained attention as a member of Odd Future and as the lead vocalist of the R&B band The Internet, helping shape their sleek, forward‑thinking sound across albums like Ego Death. Syd’s solo work blends soulful vocals, understated hooks, and warm, analog‑leaning production, showcased on Fin and later releases. A studio-minded artist, she also produces for other musicians and champions queer visibility in contemporary R&B. Her music is intimate, groove-driven, and quietly experimental. She balances lyrical candor with minimalism, earning critical praise worldwide. Syd is one of the most prominent lesbians in the music industry.

Quote: “I feel like I’m real honest in my music. Even if it ends up being an exaggeration or a fantasy, it’s a fantasy that’s real to me.”
