An American biologist and pioneering sex researcher, Alfred Kinsey transformed public discussion of sexuality through large-scale interviews and landmark studies such as
Sexual Behavior in the Human Male and Sexual Behavior in the Human Female. He popularized the idea that sexual behavior exists on a continuum (often associated with the “Kinsey scale”), challenging rigid categories and stigma. Kinsey’s methods and ethics have been debated, but his impact on sexology and social attitudes is immense. His own sexuality has been widely reported as bisexual, with accounts describing attraction and relationships involving both men and women.
Quote: “Only the human mind invents categories and tries to force facts into separated pigeonholes.”
