Harrison Browne is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward known for being the first openly transgender athlete in professional hockey. Browne played in the National Women’s Hockey League (now the PHF), including stints with the Buffalo Beauts and the Metropolitan Riveters, and was part of Buffalo’s 2017 Isobel Cup championship team. After coming out publicly in 2016 and later identifying as a transgender man, Browne became a prominent advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport. Through speaking engagements and community work, Browne has pushed for safer locker-room cultures, respectful policies, and greater visibility for transgender athletes.
